CREATE A UNIQUE WEB SITE
by Gretchen Kokotovich

One thing I discovered by participating in the "Click Thru Network" is that there's a lot of redundancy on the Internet. Most of the Business Opportunities pages look alike. Sure the backgrounds are different, but the content is basically the same. A lot of banners placed on a very long webpage. The banners are the same ones we all see regularly - link exchange, submit it, add me, etc.. but nothing unique or interesting enough to keep me at the site for longer than it takes to find the "click thru network" banner so I can proceed to the next page.

How can we prevent our websites from falling into this mundane website menagerie? By offering something unique -- whether it's a service, product or links to other sites.

For example, my site at http://gift-shop.hypermart.net is a fine place to start an Internet Shopping Experience, however, there's nothing to distinguish it from the myriad of other Online Shopping Centers available online. In an effort to generate more traffic to my shopping areas, I'm in the process of developing a "children's area" at my website. My plan is to draw parents and their children to areas that provide Quality Children's Services -- like arts & crafts, stories, music, cartoons, etc... I can then advertise my Children's website in areas where my FreeMarketing and gift-shop ads wouldn't be appropriate. The "Children's Area" will, of course, provide links to the gift-shop and FreeMarketing areas, thus generating traffic for my "income generating" online services.

Do you have a special skill or interest that others might enjoy learning more about? There's your starting point -- develop your idea and set it in motion. Soon you'll have a UNIQUE WEB SITE that will stand apart from the rest and bring you the traffic you deserve.

Meanwhile, join the "Click Thru Network" and start surfing... you'll learn a lot in the process - I guarantee it. -g-
